West African Lit & Cultures

A study of West African literature, film and cultural production. The course features a diversity of genres (e.g., oral narratives, radio drama, indigenous & Nollywood film) and spans from pre-colonial history (Timbuktu, myths, slave narratives) to current booming “third-generation” diasporic writing which investigates multicultural and global concerns. Exclusion: EN309c.
